Alan Palmer, MSPT, CSCS
Alan joined his business partner Tom in the development and creation of the Excel Physical Therapy vision. They decided to create a business that truly cared for their patients and to offer the most progressive care available in the industry. He is a graduate of Ithaca College and enjoys a broad spectrum of experience throughout the capital region. His specialty areas include osteopathic manual therapy, pediatrics, sport and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and geriatrics. Training and education on the newest techniques is the cornerstone of Alan’s commitment to providing the absolute best services to the patients of Excel Physical Therapy.

Tom with his business partner Alan has been the inspiration to create the overall vision, progressive standards and caring atmosphere at Excel Physical Therapy. He is a graduate of Ithaca College and Nova Southern University and has extensive experience practicing in various out-patient settings throughout Greene, Albany and Saratoga counties. Tom’s impressive credentials benefit his patients daily with a special focus on advanced clinical training for orthopedic problems, manual, sport and geriatric rehabilitation and he takes great pride in maintaining his edge on the newest and best osteopathic techniques and philosophy. Tom and Alan’s leadership has brought Excel Physical Therapy to the forefront of advanced physical therapy services in the region.

Alivia graduated from Misericordia University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She also received a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Management. She has been around sports her whole life and played 2 years of basketball for Misericordia. She has completed clinical rotations in both inpatient settings such as the burn unit and a variety of outpatient clinics in New Jersey and Florida. Alivia has an interest in manual therapy and neuromuscular re-education. She is a certified LSVT BIG member. Alivia is excited to be back in the area and work with the Excel team.

Lisa has deep family roots in the Greene County community and adds a sincere hometown feel to Excel Physical Therapy. She is a graduate of Maria College in Albany, leaving one of the region’s finest educational institutions with an Associate Degree in Physical Therapy. Lisa has extensive experience in her field working in a diverse mixture of settings including acute care, geriatrics, wound care and head injury facilities. Having worked in both private practice and public sector, she enjoys and chooses to provide her well respected care to the family of clients served by Excel Physical Therapy.

Kyle graduated from Russel Sage College with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy and earned his Bachelors Degree in Applied Biology from Sage College of Albany. Kyle has completed a variety of clinical rotations in both outpatient and inpatient hospital settings. He has a passion for research and evidence based practice, which he applies in the clinical setting to provide optimal care for all his patients. He has a special interest in pediatric and sports related injuries and has been involved in coaching youth sports in the Capital District for several years.

Hayley graduated from Sage Graduate School with a Doctorate of PT. She also received her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Rhode Island. For her four years at URI, Hayley was a collegiate D1 athlete in Track and Field. For this reason, Hayley has a strong passion for orthopedics and sports rehabilitation. In addition, Hayley has completed clinical internships in variety of sports orthopedic and pediatric settings that focused on treating children with developmental disabilities. She has been trained to treat all her patients with a hands on approach and looks forward to helping individuals reach their goals, no matter how big or small they may be. Hayley is very excited to be a part of the Excel team.

Over her coursework she did clinical rotations at various facilities expanding her patient centered approach towards providing the best care. She has gained experience working with geriatrics, bariatrics, and has a passion for orthopedics. She is excited to help you achieve your goals!

Joy Walton, PTA
Joy was raised in the Saratoga County and graduated from Herkimer County Community College with an Associate Degree in Physical Therapy. Joy enjoys working with pediatrics and has over 10 years of experience working as a nanny and running different youth programs. Joy also enjoys working with orthopedics, neurological conditions, sports injuries, geriatrics and using manual therapy technics. Joy was inspired to pursue a career in physical therapy after seeing all the wonderful things physical therapy was able to do to improve her sister’s quality of life. It is a highly rewarding field to be a part of.
